Mounted rangers donate to Country Kickers 4-H club

The Country Kickers 4-H club received a $500 check from the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers April 15.

Based in Apache Junction, Country Kickers offers members projects that include horses, swine, poultry, lambs, rabbits and the outdoors. It is wrapping up its season but will begin accepting new members in August, club coordinator Markel Adams said in an e-mailed response to questions.

Membership is open to boys and girls ages 9-19. There also is a group for kids ages 5-8 called Cloverbuds. The kids have to be at least 9 to show an animal at the county fair, Ms. Adams said. People who are interested may call Ms. Adams at 480-703-3052 or e-mail markeladams@gmail.com.

The donation will enable the club to purchase items such as a timer and pop-up barrels for practice sessions, pole bases, signs and banners, clippers, a livestock scale and a cage in which to transport livestock, Ms. Adams said in her e-mail.
