Registration open for upcoming Apache Junction golf league

The Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Golf League is accepting registration for its 13-week season of play on Tuesdays beginning May 6 at Apache Creek Golf Club, 3401 S. Ironwood Drive in Apache Junction.

The golf league is available for both men and women, and scoring will help to establish the handicap each player will use to score their weekly play, according to a press release.

The registration fee is $5. The weekly green fee is $19.

Players will schedule their own tee times each week for 8 a.m. and later.

They will earn points for winning any of the weekly contest holes, shooting within stroke ranges and below par on holes.

Golfers who would like to play with a group but don’t currently have one may e-mail ggartner@ajcity.net or call 480-474-5119 to be matched up with individuals to form a group.

Registration is accepted in the parks and recreation office 1001 N. Idaho Road; on the city’s website or at the golf course.

Visit the city’s sports website for the flier, details and rules.

For more information on this or other parks and recreation programs and services, call 480-983-2181 or visit the city’s website.

The Apache Junction Independent is mailed each month to 35,000 homes.
