Investigators from the Apache Junction Police Department are on the scene of an alleged shooting that was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the 300 block of North Ocotillo Drive north of West Apache Trail in Apache Junction.

James McIlory, who lives in the area, told the Independent he heard shots fired. When he went outside to see what was happening, he saw the suspect holding a firearm and walking across the street from the house where the shots were fired to the suspect’s home across the street, Mr. McIlory said.

He said the police arrested the suspect and a woman in connection with the alleged shooting.

Police Chief Tom Kelly could not release any details, saying during a phone interview only that there was an active investigation taking place and that there were no fatalities.
