Lane: Boys and Girls Club thanks all for help with fundraiser

On behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley, Yesteryear Events Committee, a friend and fundraising arm for the Apache Junction Branch, I would sincerely like to thank the communities of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon and Superstition Mountain for the support they provided for our 2015 Yesteryear Event fundraiser held on April 11. Thanks to the generous support and sponsorships, we were able to raise awareness of our local club and the many advantages it brings to our community, its children and their parents.
Thanks to the partnership in the Yesteryears fundraising drive, we were able to attract as many as 400 new and old friends interested in becoming involved in our Boys and Girls Club. The event raised over $54,000 to return to the club for its operations budget, which directly benefits the club’s 600-plus members. Of this, over $6,000 was raised in scholarships for summer camp attendance and we are continuing to receive pledges for this wonderful program since the event.
This event would not have been a success without the generous support provided by Dolce Vita, Industrial Seats, Taco Bell, SRP, Tess and Gerry Nesser, Pinal Partnership, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles, Modern Woodmen of America, Big Two Toyota/Scion of Chandler, Dee DeBow, Dolly Steamboat Cruises, Encore Creative, Prudential Overall, Resolution Copper, Filly’s Roadhouse, Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, Beacon Pointe Financial Wealth Advisors, Paul and Lesley Monfardini, Lion’s Club, Goldfield Ghost Riders, Superstition Mountain Promotion Corp., AJ Mounted Rangers, Elks Lodge No. 2349, Superstition Harley-Davidson, A2Z Sales, Encanterra, Apache Greyhound Park, Ron and Sheryl LeDuc, Andrea Wojtasek, Gold Canyon Lions Club, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Janesky – Telecom Pioneers, Windmill Winery, Milford and Kathleen Cunningham, Max and Marlene Miller, AJ Police Department, Carrabba’s, Shea Homes, Salt River Tubing and Recreation, Goldfield Ghost Town, Superstition Scenic Railroad, Arnold Auto Center, Lowell Arnold, Coyote Coupon Books, Superstition Historical Museum, AJI Sporting Goods, The Arizona Renaissance Festival, Office Max, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent, Rosati’s of Gold Canyon, Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals, Old West Ironworks, Pinal County Federal Credit Union, Sandie and Tom Smith, Friends of the Boys and Girls Club Group, Boys and Girls Club AJ Branch Board and staff, city of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon and Superstition Mountain business communities and many more individuals and community organizations.
For over 17 years, the Yesteryear Events have been synonymous with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley, Apache Junction Branch. We are proud to say that this has been one of our best year yet. The partnership of a tireless volunteer event team and generous sponsors truly made this year’s event spectacular for our guests who also gave generously to the children.
It is our sincere hope that you will join us again in 2016 when we create an even bigger and better event in support of the boys and girls and the families in our community.
