Gamble: Without Canadian winter residents, waitress’ employment may not exist

My response is directed to the anonymous Apache Junction waitress who is seemingly ungrateful for her Canadian gratuities (“Speak Out: Canadian visitors, tip at least 15% or ‘more if you get great service’”)

Irene Gamble

Despite our Canadian dollar is nearly 35 percent less than the American dollar we continue to be grateful for the opportunity to reside in Arizona for the winter.

Yes we are a nation of extremely polite, courteous and generous people welcomed around the world, who customarily generously tip in direct relation to the service received.

Perhaps the Apache Junction waitress would spend as much time tending her customers as she does tending her tips the result would be apparent.

Furthermore without we Canadian winter residents, employment may very well not exist.

Lastly perhaps this line of work may not be inline with this waitress’ talents.

Sincerely, your Canadian friend.

Winter resident
