Dave Nybeck: Winter visitors’ money needed to support businesses

Evidently the people complaining about the winter visitors have no clue how much their money is needed each year to support the towns and business of Arizona.
Without them we would have substantially fewer stores and restaurants in Apache Junction for the residents to go to.
The year-round residents don’t and can’t spend enough money to support this town and without the money influx during the winter all we would have is a bunch of trailers and homes and a lot more taxes and the cost of goods would also rise to support what we end up with.
Maybe if you would try to appreciate the people who come from other states to spend time enjoying our weather we could all get along better.
We are all part of the United States of America; try to act like it.
