Suspect arrested in armed robbery of Sonic Drive-In, Apache Junction police say

William Scott Graves, 33, of Apache Junction, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault in connection with the March 27 armed robbery of Sonic Drive-In, 875 W. Apache Trail, Apache Junction police said.

The suspect was transported to the Pinal County Detention Center in Florence where he is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to a release.

Apache Junction Police Department responded at approximately 10 a.m. March 27 to the armed robbery call at the Sonic Drive-in.

“Sonic employees reported that a male suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at them, demanded money and personal items from the employees,” AJPD Cpl. Marshall Harshman said in the release.

“Responding officers set up a perimeter as the suspect was seen climbing the backyard fences in the nearby area. Officers subsequently located and arrested the suspect outside a residence in the 300 block of West Third Avenue. The suspect was in possession of cash and some of the personal items that were stolen from the victim employees,” Cpl. Harshman said.

Apache Junction Police Department reminds the public that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, according to the release.
