Organizers of the 2016 Relay for Life of Superstition Mountains invite the public to attend an event to kick off the 2016 fundraising season. The event will take place 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the student lounge at Central Arizona College Superstition Mountain Campus, Building C, at 805 S. Idaho Road in Apache Junction, according to a press release.

This year, more than three million men, women and youngsters will take part in approximately 5,200 Relays For Life nationwide. And every relay season starts off with a special celebration that builds the momentum for another successful year.

Attend the Open House Kick-off Celebration for this year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Superstition Mountains and be a part of a family-friendly event that will help bring us just that much closer to finding a cure for cancer.

While the primary focus of any Relay For Life open house kick-off celebration is to raise awareness of the event, it is also a time when friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers and students can come together as a community.

Celebrate a fun evening complete with tables designed to explain Relay For Life and how to become a part of this nationwide groundswell to find a cure. Refreshments and raffles will be available.

This year’s 2016 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Superstition Mountains will be held on April 9-10 at Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive.

To learn more about the kick-off celebration, call Kelli Caplette at 602-478-1954 or e-mail her at kellirelay@gmail.com.

The Apache Junction Independent is mailed each month to 35,000 homes.
