The Superstition Fire and Medical District and the Mesa Fire and Medical Department responded to a mobile home fire April 24 in the 100 block of South Ironwood Drive.

The residents were able to escape the fire without injury, but the mobile home and its contents were a total loss. (SFMD)

Firefighters were dispatched just before 4 p.m. The first unit arrived in seven minutes to find a single-wide mobile home fully involved with fire, according to a release.

The residents were able to escape the fire without injury, but the home and its contents were a total loss, according to the release.

Firefighters were able to prevent the blaze from spreading to adjacent homes and had the fire under control in less than 10 minutes.

The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents with temporary needs.  The initial investigation identified a window air-conditioner as the likely cause of the fire, however the official cause is still under investigation, the release states.
