Meeting March 20 on Apache Junction’s General Plan

The City of Apache Junction is in the process of updating its General Plan and will hold a public meeting on the project at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20.

The meeting will be held in Room B-117 of the Apache Junction Multi-generational Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road.

The General Plan is a strategic guide that encompasses physical development, infrastructure planning and economic growth for the next 10 years.

The city is required to update and adopt its General Plan for the community every 10 years. Citizens are encouraged to help guide the future of the city by participating in this important planning process, according to a release.

In addition to the public meetings, all residents are invited to take a short survey at to weigh in on the General Plan process.

The city has set up a webpage at to explain the plan, its elements, the schedule and adoption, scheduled for August 2020.
