Apache Junction roads closed due to flooding

[Update: “All of the roads closed in Apache Junction because of yesterday’s storm have now been reopened,” Al Bravo, City of Apache Junction public information officer, said in a 11:47 a.m. Feb. 22 release.]

Flooded washes and running water from rainfall in Apache Junction have caused closures of intersections and roadways.

“These are expected to be the final road closures of the evening. We are expecting to keep all of these closures in place overnight because more rain is expected. More than 1.5 inches have fallen already at a gauge near city hall,” Al Bravo, City of Apache Junction public information officer, said in a release.

Road closures from flooding as of late Feb. 21 include:

  • Intersection of Tepee Street and Cortez Road
  • Roundup Street, east of Meridian Drive
  • Shiprock Street, east of Meridian
  • 16th Avenue, west of Ironwood
  • San Marcos at 12th Avenue
  • Delaware, south of Smoketree

Additional streets closed due to flooded washes:

  • Delaware Drive north of Tepee Street
  • Tepee Street at Desert View Drive
  • Lost Dutchman, west of Goldfield
  • Scenic Street, east of Tomahawk Road
  • Junction Street, east of Tomahawk
  • Fourth Avenue, west of Tomahawk
