Apache Junction needs to fill vacancy on community facilities district board

The Superstition Mountains Community Facilities District No. 1 (Sewer District) is actively seeking a district resident to fill a recent vacancy on its board of directors.

This board vacancy’s term runs through July 7, 2016.  Board members are appointed by the Apache Junction City Council.

Members of the Facilities District Board serve as unpaid volunteers who are responsible for setting policy and rates, adopting a budget and other high-level decision making regarding all aspects of the district’s operation and on-going business affairs, according to a press release.

The Superstition Mountains Community Facilities District is an independent, public, nonprofit utility developed solely for the benefit of its customers and the Apache Junction community to operate, and maintain a regional system for the collection, transport and treatment of sewage from the properties existing within its boundaries.

Interested parties should apply online. The deadline for application submittals is Monday, Dec. 7.

City council will interview candidates at the Dec. 14 work session and council appointment is anticipated at the Dec. 15 council meeting, according to the release.  Both meetings begin at 7 p.m.
