Pool open for summer: Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center, 1091 W. Southern Ave. in Apache Junction, is open for the summer season through Aug. 2. Open swim is offered noon-6 p.m. daily. The daily fee is $1 for ages 17 and $2 for ages 18 and older.  A season pool pass also is available. Pass holders have access to lap swimming and open swim. Individual passes cost $45 for ages 17 and younger and $65 for ages 18 and older. A family pass is offered for $95. The fee includes up to six immediate family members. An additional $15 will be charged for each family member over the allotted six. Apache Junction Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet: 5-11 p.m., Dolce Vita, 3310 S. Goldfield Road in Apache Junction. Cocktail/social time will begin at 5:30 p.m.. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $25. The event is co-sponosred by Brookdale Apache Junction Senior Living Solutions and Salt River Project. Entrepreneurs for A Cause: 6-9 p.m., The Views at Superstition, 6900 E. U.S. Highway 60 No. 204 in Gold Canyon. $35 in advance, $45 at the door. Join Brides Against Breast Cancer, local entrepreneurs and individuals for a fun, after-hours networking event where local entrepreneurs will be serving drinks for tips. All proceeds will benefit www.thehealthsupportnetwork.org to fund free programs for people impacted by cancer. Tickets include three drink tickets, light snacks, networking and entertainment. Summer Vacation Bible School Camp, “Hometown Nazareth, Where Jesus Was A Kid”: 9 a.m.-noon, Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, 6640 S. “Bob Ross” Oil Painting: 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., AJ Multi-Generational Center art room, 1035 N. Idaho Road. Fees are $35 for registration and $20 for materials. For ages 12 and older. Learn to complete an entire painting in only one class. Learn how to prepare a canvas, mix and blend colors, use specialty brushes and tools, how to clean a brush, how to create distance and depth and how to achieve contrast with highlight and shadow. Cupcake Class: 4-5 p.m., Apache Junction Multi-Generational Center, room B114a, 1035 N. Idaho Road. For ages 8-13. $15 for all three days. Learn to make, bake and take cupcakes kids can make, eat or share. A new cupcake creation will be made each day, Participants will create the batter for a new batch for the next day.
