The Apache Junction Police Department Explorer Program recently received a donation from the AJ Mounted Rangers.

Apache Junction Police Officer R. Rivera, Trevan Ballinger, Jessica Laduran were on hand with AJ Mounted Rangers Mike Hellberg who represented the group to donate $750 to the AJPD Explorer Program, according to a press release.

Congratulations were extended to the “kids who are already an asset to Apache Junction” as the money donated to the program pays for uniforms and other incidentals, the release said.

The Explorer Program helps kids become police officers and offers pre-training for the youths who help at events in Apache Junction, the release said.
