Save Our Schools group to meet March 5

Save Our Schools, an organization composed of concerned citizens, teachers and parents in Apache Junction and Gold Canyon, invite the public to a community meeting 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Apache Junction Multi-Generation Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road.

The purpose of the meeting is not to air grievances about the closing of another school in the Apache Junction Unified School District but to come together and develop action plans to stop the loss of funds from area schools, according to a press release.

Concerned parents, students and community business leaders are invited to engage elected officials to ensure adequate funding is available to support local education, according to the release.

Cami Garcia will moderate the discussion and the development of an action plan.
