It’s snowbird migration time and the Census comes this year.
The Census count determines how much money we will get from the federal government. That’s $1,500 a year per person for roads, hospitals, police, fire and schools for the next 10 years.
We local residents have to make up the difference. That’s why we’re forming a citizens’ committee to patrol the community this summer for out-of-state license plates. We will record the plate number and the address and turn them over to the police department. We will be checking the age 55-plus communities in and around Apache Junction so you snowbirds have been warned. Us locals are mad; we’re not going to take it anymore.
I have been an Arizona resident since March 1980.
