Paws 4 Life will hold its 10th Annual Spring Fling from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the home of Todd and Tuni House. A shuttle will take party-goers to the private home, according to a press release.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Paws 4 Life, an Apache Junction-based nonprofit organization serving the community through pets, service dogs and volunteers working together to bring affordable training and unique services to the East Valley, according to its website: http://paws4life.net/.
There will be music, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and artists on the patio. Tickets cost $10 per person. Beverages will be sold separately. One half the cost for tickets and beverages will go to Paws 4 Life; the remaining 50 percent will be used to pay for the food and beverages.
Attendees are asked to bring one item of non-perishable food and one item of pet food for a dog, cat or horse for local food banks.
Tickets should be purchased by March 20 to allow for food preparation. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 480-288-5174 or 480-262-5479.
The money goes towards Paws 4 Life’s student program of volunteers for a scholarship program. It will also go towards its service dog program and the food bank of Whiskers, Wags and Whinny’s.
It is a 100 percent volunteer program. Some Paws 4 Life volunteers also help at Paws and Claws Care Center, 725 E. Baseline Road in Apache Junction. It is a good relationship for all, according to the release.
It takes a lot of funding to run Paws 4 Life, which relies on donations, and its fundraisers. This event has always been a fun event, Mrs. House, who operates Paws 4 Life, said in the release.
The Apache Junction Independent is delivered weekly.
