Warming temperatures and windy conditions for May 20

Plan on warming temperatures and developing windy conditions for May 20, according to the Flood Control District of Maricopa County’s forecast.

“For (May 20) plan on warming temperatures and developing windy conditions. Daytime high temperatures will peak in the 95˚F-97˚F range around the Valley under mostly sunny skies (possible afternoon/evening haze from dust). Breezy west/southwest winds in the 8-16 mph range will develop into the afternoon hours with frequent gusts around 20-30 mph. Areas of blowing dust will be of some concern especially across western and southern portions of the county into the late afternoon/evening. For Saturday, plan on another windy day though temperatures will take a step back into the upper 80s to around 90˚F. Similar to Friday, blowing dust will be a concern across I-10/I-8 corridors heading out of the Valley. Further cooling is forecast for Sunday with highs falling into the mid to upper 80s around the Valley under mainly sunny skies and easing afternoon breezes,” D. Henz of the flood control district wrote in a weather outlook for Maricopa County.
